Postprocessing Oberflächenveredelung 3D-Druck

Post processing

We offer you different variants for the surface treatment of 3D printed components: In addition to grinding, coloring and painting, we also offer various special coatings for your individual wishes and designs. You are also welcome to order these services individually from us.

Surface finishing

colored component 3D printing

Coloring

The component is colored in a cauldron with liquid dye. During the process, the dyes bond with the base material. Under pressure and heat, the colors penetrate up to 200 mu into the open pores of the plastic parts, which distinguishes coloring from painting.

smoothed component 3D printing

Smoothen

Here, the components are exposed to a vaporized solvent in a closed chamber. The solvent condenses on the surface and partially dissolves the rough surface. This closes pores and evens out small bumps. The result is a smooth, practically non-porous surface.

painted component 3D printing

Lacquer

In order to achieve an embellished and protected surface on the component, it can be painted. The finish can be selected in any RAL color as required.

Surface finishing 3D printing flocking

Flocking

For flocking, the component must first be provided with an adhesive. The flock is then applied and then dried in an oven at room temperature. The component can then be freed from loose flock fibers. Due to the adhesives used, the flocking is very hard-wearing and abrasion-resistant. In this way, parts can be protected from damage and their sliding properties optimized.

Surface finishing infiltrating 3D printing

Infiltrierate

During infiltration, the surface is closed, which makes your 3D printed objects more stable on the one hand, and on the other hand they are better protected from contamination because they have a higher pressure resistance and waterproofness.

Surface finishing 3D printing rubberizing

Rubberize

This type of refinement is recommended for components that must not cause any sliding or slipping processes and should not leave any marks on high-quality parts. In addition, this coating protects the component in the event of a light impact and supports gripping, holding or clamping. Elastically flexible coatings enclose the contour of the part on contact, distribute the surface pressure and weaken point loads.

Electroplating nickel surface finishing 3D printing
Electroplating copper surface finishing 3D printing

Electroplating (copper, nickel)

Here one speaks of the galvanic coating of a plastic with a metal layer. With this process, functional surfaces can be e.g. nickel-plated or copper-plated and give your component a special shine.

Surface finishing 3D printing ESD

EMC and ESD coating

EMC coatings prevent technical devices from being disrupted by unwanted electrical or electromagnetic effects.

ESD compliant coatings prevent unwanted electrostatic discharge.

Surface structure

Structures and textures

Unique surface structures are created with a view to the nature and function of components. Because of the flexible design options for the material surfaces, the structure can be adapted to the properties and functionality of your component in order to optimize your components by choosing a suitable surface finish.

For example, friction can be specifically reduced and adhesion and heat dissipation can be improved. Accordingly, not only an individual adjustment of the feel and appearance of components can be achieved, but also increased durability, efficiency and performance can be achieved.

Mount/set threaded inserts

The thread insert is used to create internal threads for screw connections by inserting a hollow cylinder (“insert”) with an internal thread into the material.

In this way, standard products can be easily connected to 3D-printed components.

CNC Processing

A milling machine is used to continuously remove material. The milling cutter rotates at high speed during chip removal in order to obtain the desired contour or surface finish.

In 3D printing, changes can also be made to the component afterwards.
